About the Course

This course is designed for students who are curious about law and want a realistic introduction to the legal profession.

The course is appropriate for motivated high school students, typically grades 9–12. It is especially helpful for students beginning to think seriously about career exploration. Mature middle school students with a strong interest in law are also welcome to participate.

No. The course is intentionally age-appropriate and focused on career exploration, not legal doctrine. It introduces students to how legal careers actually work and what different types of lawyers do.

The course is fully online and asynchronous. Students can complete the material on their own schedule once access begins.

Yes. While the course is fully asynchronous and self-paced, it is designed to be engaging and reflective rather than passive.

Students will encounter structured opportunities to think critically, consider different career paths, and apply concepts introduced in the course. The material is designed to promote active engagement and thoughtful exploration, even in an online format.

No. This course is not graded. It is designed as an educational enrichment experience focused on exploration and understanding rather than evaluation.

No. Prelaw Primer is an independent enrichment program and does not provide high school or college credit.

Enrollment is open now. Course content becomes available beginning July 1.

The course is structured as a four-week experience, but because it is asynchronous, students may move through the material at their own pace.

The cost for Introduction to Legal Careers is $500.

No. There are no hidden costs, travel expenses, or required materials beyond standard internet access.

Yes, upon completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Other Courses

Yes. Future offerings will include deeper dives into specific areas of law and a pre–mock trial preparation course. These are currently in development.

Private Consultations

Yes. Private consultations are available for students who want personalized support.

Private consultations are $200 per hour. Sessions may be scheduled based on the student’s needs and goals.

No, all consultations are conducted over Zoom.

Outcomes & Purpose

Prelaw Primer is designed to provide meaningful, informed career exploration. While thoughtful exploration can strengthen college applications, the primary goal is clarity and education and there are no guarantees that enrollment in a Prelaw Primer course or a private consultation will help any student get into college.

No. The courses are designed to help students explore the legal profession thoughtfully and gain a clearer understanding of whether law aligns with their interests and goals.

Prelaw Primer is built by a practicing attorney and former college counselor. It focuses on substance, realism, and age-appropriate exploration - without pressure, prestige pricing, or artificial exclusivity.

Refunds & Policies

Because enrollment provides access to proprietary course materials, refunds are not available once the course access link has been shared.

If a family withdraws prior to receiving course access, a refund request may be considered at the discretion of Prelaw Primer.

We encourage families to review all course information carefully before enrolling and to reach out with any questions prior to purchase.

To respect scheduling commitments and ensure fairness to all families, the following policy applies to private consultation appointments:

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment are eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment are eligible for a 50% refund.
  • No-shows are not eligible for a refund.

Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late without prior notice will be considered a no-show and will not be eligible for a refund.

If a student anticipates being late, advance communication is encouraged and may allow for flexibility at the instructor’s discretion.

No, links to classes cannot be shared. All class platforms are monitored to ensure only enrolled students are accessing them, and any person sharing a link will be charged for each unauthorized use of the link.
